I was so excited for Ponyo because I envisioned something really awesome, but then so many things went wrong in the process.
I initially thought of putting ponyo in a circular jar, but then her reflection got distorted so I got a rectangular jar. Then I had the idea of having her head poke out of the water but then the reflection got distorted again T-T... so I completely submerged her, which made positioning her difficult as well. I had to pour wax halfway, wait for it to cool, figure out the right consistency that is appropriate to place her in, hold her until the first part of the wax appropriately hardened (which was 15 min and resulted in an immense hand cramp) and then poor the rest of the wax on top.
This was actually my fifth attempt and I'm not happy with it, but it is beyond savable now

. The figurine of ponyo itself was nice, but then I think the quality of it went down due to the wax. Let alone the uncontrollable appearance of the many bubbles, the wax also washes out the vibrant colour. Sighhh.... so many things went wrong...
Additionally... she's not looking at the camera! I intended for her to look up, which is why her eyes are directed upward, but then I kept moving when I had to hold her and wait for the wax to harden. As a result, she actually ended up being mispositioned

Anyways, I'd appreciate your comments. Out of all my sculpeys.... i'd say she was the least successful

Maybe do it again in a jar but have her sitting on some coral?
Is it friendly with water? Like would the paint peel or anything? Because if you had her on coral and then added water it could look really cool! I would still totally love this the way it is!
